Join us for a meaningful professional learning journey focused on inclusion, belonging, and responsive practice. Grounded in Shelley Moore’s One Without the Other and the BC Inclusive Toolkit, this Community of Practice (CoP) invites educators to build relationships, reflect deeply, learn collaboratively, and strengthen their capacity to create environments where every child, family, and educator can thrive.
This CoP offers the educators time to connect with one another through reflection and collaborative dialogue, as well as opportunities to apply learning to daily practice.
Cost of $20.00 includes:
- 10 hours of professional development certificate of attendance (Attendance is required at all sessions)
- One Without the Other book by Shelley Moore
- Journal
- Light meal at each session
Facilitators: Christie Chrystal and Lisa Nicholson, with special guest Shelley Moore (May 27)!
Christie is an instructor and practicum facilitator with Delta School District’s Continuing Education ECE program, an Early Childhood Educator at Reach Preschool, and a program assistant with the Aboriginal Supported Child Development program at Reach Child & Youth Development Society. With over 20 years of experience, she is passionate about inclusive early learning and mentoring educators to create welcoming, supportive environments for all children.
Lisa is a coordinator, instructor, and practicum facilitator with Delta School District’s Continuing Education ECE program, a Communities of Practice facilitator, and a mentor with the ECE Professional Development Bursary Program through WCCR. With over 35 years as an Early Childhood Educator, her relationship-based work is grounded in listening, respect, and supporting educators to reflect deeply on their practice and purpose.
This CoP offers the educators time to connect with one another through reflection and collaborative dialogue, and opportunities to apply learning to daily practice.
We are also excited to add that Shelley Moore will be joining us for the May 27, 2026 session!
This Community of Practice is offered in partnership with Reach Child and Youth Development Society , Delta Continuing Education, ECE Department and Child Care Options CCRR.
This initiative is funded through the Canada-British Columbia Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia, in partnership with the Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre (WCCRC), the agency responsible for administering the funds.
